Flora and Fauna

A report by Cheshire Wildlife Trust in 1997 described the Moss area as having a mosaic of habitats, ditches,woodland, scrub, wet patches and mossland supporting a variety of species.

Fauna included:

  • Over 100 varieties of birds including Buzzards and Grasshopper Warblers..
  • Butterflies, amphibians and dragonflies 9including Symetrum Danea)
  • Common Shrews.
  • Rare Water Voles
  • Pipistrelle and Noctualle Bats

Flora included:

  • Heather
  • Bilberry
  • Coomon cats-ear
  • Cotton Grass
  • Molinea
